Happy New Year, Laural Home friends! We are full of hope and excitement for 2018 and working on beautiful new products to share with you soon.
January is all about taking good care of yourself after the hectic holiday season. Most of us are looking to begin living our New Year’s resolution list that might include eating healthier, making time to exercise more, learning a new skill, and strengthening our connections with cherished family and friends.
Especially for those of you in living in cold climate locales, the hygge trend is alive and well.
Hygge is a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word is said to have no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close.
Though there are many ways to describe hygge, it is simply as the Danish ritual of enjoying life's simple pleasures. Friends. Family. Graciousness.
May we suggest a few of our favorite comfy, cozy comforters and throws that we plan on hibernating under till the winter is over?!
We also like the idea of using room darkening window coverings to create a cozy haven.
