James has always been an avid outdoorsman, having grown up in British Columbia — where he currently lives — surrounded by dramatic mountains and rivers. His artwork, primarily oil painting, reflects his love of nature and landscapes. James studied at the Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver, earning a diploma in printmaking and painting. He has applied the work ethic he gained on his family farm to his 30-year career as a professional artist.
